KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts work environmental monitoring (WEM), ergonomic assessments, and workplace risk evaluations for new processes, materials and equipment.
- Evaluates, approves and validates PPE suitability and certifications; leads testing and selection for specific activities.
- Performs regular safety audits across YMPH sites and support third-party inspections and certifications (DOLE, BFP, PEZA).
- Investigates occupational accidents, near-misses, and traffic accidents; tracks and verifies corrective actions.
- Facilitates safety orientations for employees, contractors and visitors; road safety; delivers training based on plant-wide needs analysis.
- Develops emergency plans, conducts drills, updates emergency response team (ERT) structure, and manages emergency supplies and training.
- Establishes and reviews safety policies, procedures, signage standards, and hazard control programs (e.g Occupational and road safety, Hazard identification, Risk assessment and Determination Control (HIRADC), Kiken Yochi Training (KYT).
- Assesses contractor operations, issues safety permits, conducts inspections, and enforces work stoppages, for unsafe practices.
- Serves as ESH Committee secretary, prepares minutes of the meeting, and communicates safety updates and risk assessments.
- Oversees safety records, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) registration, and training documentation, incidents and hazard reports.
- Creates promotional materials, improves training content, and supports plant-wide safety campaigns and initiatives.
- Performs other relates duties that may be assigned from time to time by superior.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of any 4-Years Course with BOSH Certification; BS Criminology is advantage.
- 1-2 years’ experience as Safety Officer 2 or similar capacity in a Manufacturing set-up is advantage.
- Can drive with valid driver’s license for Motorcycle and 4-wheels (both manual and automatic).
- Knowledgeable in Occupational Safety and Health Standards Philippine traffic rules and regulation.
- Background in emergency preparedness, Basic First Aid, Training the Trainers and Accident Investigation.
